Kintamani Mount Batur

Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple

The Bukit Peninsula, located at the southern tip of Bali, is home to Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of the nine major Hindu temples on the island. Established in the 11th century, the temple was built on the edge of a limestone cliff overlooking the sea. Although only Hindu priests are allowed into the innermost sanctuary, visitors are welcome to come to the grounds and enjoy the views, with or without a guide. Idols of Ganesha on the entrance of temple premises, and live monkeys beg visitors for treats. A dance is performed for the visitors every evening at sunset.
