IPL 2021 In UAE: BCCI in dilemma regarding IPL schedule, 31 matches to be played in 25 days

IPL 2021 In UAE: The BCCI has not yet announced the schedule for the second leg of IPL 2021.  The second leg of the IPL will be held in the UAE. A total of 31 matches will be played during this period.

The remaining 31 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) will now be played in the UAE.  BCCI has started its preparation. Top officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, including BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah, are currently in Dubai to discuss the logistics aspect of the IPL.

IPL 2021 had to be postponed midway after Corona broke into the Bio Bubble. A total of 29 matches was played in the first league. The BCCI has recently confirmed the organization of this league in the UAE.

According to the report of website, BCCI is preparing for major changes in the IPL (IPL 2021) schedule. This includes the venue and schedule. Now 31 matches have to be played within 25 days.

Now 8 to 10 doubleheader matches

If IPL not been postponed due to COVID-19, only 6 doubleheader matches would have been left.  Now in a smaller window, he wants to organize all the matches before the T20 World Cup. BCCI is planning 8 to 10 doubleheader matches.

Single Venue for league Final Stage Matches and Knockouts and Finals

Like last year, this time also IPL 2021 (IPL In UAE) will be played on three grounds. This includes Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. However, the BCCI wants to play only one venue in the last leg of the league and against the knockout rounds, which includes the final. Dubai is expected to be the first choice for this.  Where most of the franchisees can book hotels like in IPL 2020.

No change in match timings

Like last year, this time also the first match of the doubleheader of IPL 2021 is expected to be played from 3:30 pm. The second match can be played from 7:30 pm. In IPL 2020, the teams of Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders were stationed in Abu Dhabi while the other teams were in Dubai.

Delhi Capitals at number one position

Delhi Capitals top the points table with 12 points winning 6 out of 8 matches, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings are on the second spot with 10 points. The BCCI is planning to organize the second leg of the IPL from 17th or 19th September.
